الحَمْدُ لِلّهِ رَبِّ العَالَمِيْنَ، وَبِهِ نَسْتَعِيْنُ عَلَى أُمُوْرِ الدُّنْيَا وَالدِّيْنِ، أَشْهَدُ اَنْ لَاإِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللهَ وَحْدَهُ لَاشَرِيْكَ لَهُ وَأَشْهَدُ اَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُوْلُهُ، وَالصَّلاَةُ وَالسَّلاَمُ عَلىَ أَشْرَفِ الأَنْبِيَاءِ وَالمُرْسَلِيْن، سَيِّدِنَا وَمَوْلَانَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آَلِهِ وَأَصْحَابِهِ أَجْمَعِيْنَ

Bapak dan ibu serta teman temanku semuanya,

pada kesempatan ini saya akan menyampaikan sebab sebab turunnya surat At Takasur.

Dahulu, sikap sombong merupakan suatu kebiasaan yang sering terjadi di kalangan kabilah Ansor, yaitu kabilah bani haris dan harisah, mereka saling menyombongkan diri  dengan kedudukan dan kekayaan, bahkan pahlawan yang telah gugur pun sering mereka sebut untuk menunjukan kesombongan mereka.  Lalu mereka hidup bermegah megahan sehingga mereka lupa terhadap  Allah SWT.

Ayat ini juga meyakinkan kita akan adanya siksa kubur, agar kita tidak pernah ragu akan adanya kehidupan alam kubur,

Allah SWT. berFirman
أَلۡهَىٰكُمُ ٱلتَّكَاثُرُ ١  حَتَّىٰ زُرۡتُمُ ٱلۡمَقَابِرَ ٢  كَلَّا سَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَ ٣  ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَ ٤ كَلَّا لَوۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ عِلۡمَ ٱلۡيَقِينِ ٥  لَتَرَوُنَّ ٱلۡجَحِيمَ ٦ ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيۡنَ ٱلۡيَقِينِ ٧  ثُمَّ لَتُسۡ‍َٔلُنَّ يَوۡمَئِذٍ عَنِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ ٨

1. Bermegah-megahan telah melalaikan kamu

2. sampai kamu masuk ke dalam kubur

3. Janganlah begitu, kelak kamu akan mengetahui (akibat perbuatanmu itu)

4. dan janganlah begitu, kelak kamu akan mengetahui

5. Janganlah begitu, jika kamu mengetahui dengan pengetahuan yang yakin

6. niscaya kamu benar-benar akan melihat neraka Jahiim

7. dan sesungguhnya kamu benar-benar akan melihatnya dengan ´ainul yaqin

8. kemudian kamu pasti akan ditanyai pada hari itu tentang kenikmatan (yang kamu megah-megahkan di dunia itu)
